Joseph "Joe" Mott Obituary

Joseph “Joe” Douglas Mott, 62, of Osceola died peacefully at home, surrounded by family on November 9, 2023.

He was born in Flint, MI on July 19, 1961, to the late Thomas Edward and Gale (Johnson) Mott and married the love of his life, Tina Riffle in South Bend on June 28, 1986.

She survives along with their two daughters: Stephanie (Jessie) Fairres of Mishawaka, and Danielle (Maison) Cavender of Edwardsburg, MI, their five grandchildren; Sebastian, Adalynn, and Avery Fairres, and Corey and Isabelle Cavender.  Joe was one of six children growing up, and leaves behind all his siblings, Tom (Alicia) Mott of Brooksville, FL, Gary (Randi) Mott of Franklin, TN, Gretchen (Larry) Kujawa of South Bend, Cindi Potter of Madras, OR and Steve (Tina) Mott of Osceola.

Joe had an engineer’s mind and his career included boat design after receiving his Bachelor’s in Naval Architecture, and ultimately retiring from Thor RV as an engineer. He loved to putter in the yard, garage, or with his model trains. Joe found joy in watching the night sky with his telescope and cheering on his Notre Dame Fighting Irish football. Most importantly, he was the most positive, energetic, and compassionate husband, father, grandfather, and brother to his family and friends who knew him well, and he will be greatly missed.

Joe’s family have chosen cremation at this time and a time to celebrate together will be announced at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cruz Family Funeral Home, Osceola. In lieu of flowers, to honor Joe’s life memorial contributions may be sent to the local PBS: https://everloved.com/life-of/joe-mott/donate/ or leave a message of comfort for his family: https://everloved.com/life-of/joe-mott/memories/
