Judy Kay Annis, 81, of South Bend died Tuesday morning, October 10, 2023, from complications from an unexpected, tragic event.
Judy was born in St. Joseph County, IN on December 8, 1941, to the late Israel and Lorena (Neff) Raderstorf. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ronald S. Annis, and sister, Patsy Neff.
Surviving are her two children, Charles “Chuck” (Jill) Annis of Mishawaka, and Kevin (Dawn R.) Annis of South Bend. Her brother, Larry Raderstorf of Elkhart, and sister Mary (Phillip) Landowski of Chula Vista, California. Judy was also a grandmother of 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Judy was a rare, beautiful soul. Her smile lit up the world and her voice melted our hearts. She loved Elvis, fishing, cheering for Notre Dame, and hosting holiday and family events. She was devoted to and doted on her family. She passionately provided a safe haven for the community and was affectionately known as the “neighborhood granny”. She provided shelter, food, clothing, and emotional support to any child, adult, or animal in need. She showered everyone she met with unconditional love and support.
A graveside service is scheduled for October 20, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Calvary Cemetery in Niles, MI. Father Christian Johnston officiating. A time to share stories and celebrate her beautiful life will be held at Antonio’s in South Bend, IN on October 22, 2023 at 2pm.
