Judy J. (Burket) Saenz

Judith Joanne Saenz, age 79 of Osceola, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.  Judy was born August 26, 1940 in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Keith and Dorothy “Sue” (Barrett) Burket.  Judy was a graduate of Mishawaka High School, class of 1958. On December 27, 1959, she married Fortino G. Saenz at the Church of the Brethren in Osceola, Indiana.  They recently celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Fortino survives, along with their children Brenda (Michael) Patterson of Osceola, Indiana and Gregory (Sandra) Saenz of Tippencanoe, Indiana.  Surviving as well are her grandchildren Amber (Jared) Trimble of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Austin Saenz of Elkhart.  Judy is also survived by her great grandchildren Adalyn and Colson Trimble.  Surviving as well are her siblings Becky Fisher of Dallas, Texas and Larry “Butch” Burket of Mishawka.  Judy was preceded in death by her brother Tim Burket and her sister Cindy Zarazee.

Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the 4:00 pm funeral service on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the Cedar Road Missionary Church, 56907 Cedar Road, Osceola, Indiana 46561.  Rev. Dale Hamrick will officiate the service.  Private entombment will take place in the mausoleum at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka at a later time.  Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service has been entrusted with her care.

Judy was employed for many years in retail sales with Hook’s Drugs and Osco Drug in Mishawaka before retiring in 2002.  In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, planting flowers in the Spring and Summer and spending time with her family and friends.  She was also especially fond of her 2 cats, Peachy and Howie.   Judy also faithfully attended church at Cedar Road Missionary where she made many friends.
