Julius Lee Fleming

Julius Lee Fleming, age 67 of Mishawaka, passed away after a brief illness at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, July 7, 2021.  Julius was born October 27, 1953 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Ralph and Bonita (Sandefur) Fleming.  On May 24, 1975, he married Linda C. Scott at the Church of the Nazarene in Mishawaka.  They recently celebrated their 46th anniversary.

Linda survives, along with their children Andrew L. Fleming, Anita M. (Dan) Kirschbaum, Mandy D. Little, Klesey C. Fleming and Courtney P. Fleming.  Surviving as well are 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.  Julius is also survived by his siblings Patricia Book, Beatrice “Beady” (Jason) Stacy, Latresa “Sis” (Ken) Rice, Sharon (James) Mash, Dennis Fleming, Richard Fleming, Harold Fleming and Danny Fleming. He was preceded in death by his brothers Ralph Jr., Elmer and Terry Fleming.

There will be no formal services for Julius, but the family asks that you remember him in your own special way. Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Osceola has been entrusted with his care.

Julius was employed in the construction industry for many years.  He owned “Fleming Construction” and specialized in the installation of windows. Those he built for received excellent service and Julius was proud of his work and the attention to detail he put into his jobs.  He later put his knowledge of construction to good use while working for Lowe’s prior to his retirement in 2009. 

In his spare time, Julius enjoyed spending time outdoors camping with his family, fishing and hunting.  He also had a fondness for watching Westerns on TV and recently had the opportunity to travel to Georgia with Linda to visit family and friends.
