Karl Patrick Gartner

Karl Patrick Gartner, age 43 of South Bend, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020 in Elkhart.  Karl was born October 20, 1977 in South Bend, Indiana to Richard Brandom and Phillis (O’Dell) Gartner.   Karl was a graduate of Penn High School, class of 1996 and was employed by Marson International as a CNC machine operator and programmer.  He also spent some time working as an over the road truck driver.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Phyllis and James Marks of South Bend and his siblings Kurt Gartner of South Bend and Kathleen Miller of Mishawaka, his half siblings Deborah (Patrick) Sullivan of Lunenburg, Massachusetts and Richard Gartner Jr. of Wildwood, Florida and his step siblings Anita (Tim) Bohm of Peoria, Illinois and Deborah Thomas of Carmel, Indiana.  Karl is also survived by numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews. 

There will be one hour of visitation prior to the 11:00 am celebration of Karl’s life on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Gospel Center Church, 930 South 30th Street, South Bend, Indiana 46615. Karl will be laid to rest privately in Olive Cemetery, Elkhart, Indiana.  Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service has been entrusted with his arrangements.

Karl loved to spend time working outdoors and was the first to volunteer to help his friends when needed.  He also enjoyed spending time fishing and flying his RC Helicopter.  He will be missed very much.
