Obituary
Kathy Sue Phelps, age 72 of Osceola, passed away at the Brickyard in Mishawaka on March 11, 2023. Kathy was born November 21, 1950 in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Richard S. and Juanita L. (Smith) Osborne. Kathy was a graduate of Mishawaka High School, class of 1969.
Surviving are her siblings William (Sue) Osborne, Randy (Kathie) Osborne, and John (Rose) Osborne, along with eleven nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and supported in all of their endeavors. Her parents, her brother, Larry Osborne and her nephew, Carey Osborne preceded her in death.
A private graveside service will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola where Kathy will be laid to rest with her parents. Cruz Family Funeral Home of Osceola is assisting with the arrangements.
Kathy was employed by Burcliff Industries for over 20 years before taking an inspector’s position at the CTS Corporation in Elkhart where she worked for 15 years more prior to her retirement in 2014.
Kathy loved collecting “I Love Lucy” memorabilia and had many friends whom she talked with daily. She also was a dedicated daughter and cared for her mother Juanita for many years.
