Michael J. Newman

Michael J. Newman, age 35, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, January 18, 2020.  Mike was born April 13, 1984 in Elkhart, Indiana.  On November 6, 2010, he married Carrie Yoder in Elkhart, Indiana.

Carrie survives, along with their children Dillon and Abby Newman.  Also surviving are his parents, Mark (Penny) Newman of Texas, and Kay (Kevin) Askevich of Michigan, along with his siblings Monica & Mark Newman, and Ashley and Andrew Askevich.  Surviving as well is his grandfather Carl “Butch” Mabie and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held from 5-7 pm Friday, January 24, 2020 at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola.   Cremation will take place and Mike will be laid to rest a later date.

Mike was employed for several years as a mechanic.  He loved automobile racing, hunting and fishing, and his pets, especially his lizard, dogs and cats.  Mike also loved being out on the open road on his Harley and loved riding four-wheelers as well.
