Pamela Jean Paldino, age 68 of South Bend, passed away after a brief illness at the Center for Hospice, Raclin House in Mishawaka on Wednesday, March 31, 2021.  Pam was born November 18, 1952 in Mishawaka to the late William and Joan (Jeffries) Paldino. Pam was a graduate of Penn High School and later earned a degree in Nursing from South Western Michigan College and her master’s degree from Georgetown University in Washington DC.

She leaves to cherish her memories her sons Chad Brown of Mishawaka and Jamie Brown and his wife Andrea of Granger.  Surviving as well are her three grandchildren whom she loved and adored, Owen Brown, Daniel Brown and Nora Brown and her siblings Howard “Dino” Paldino and Gale (Marty Fullmer) Paldino, both of Osceola.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm Monday, April 5, 2021 at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola.  Sam Barrington will officiate the 11 am funeral service on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Cruz Family Funeral Home.  Pam’s funeral service may be streamed in real time for those unable to attend.  Please follow this link:   The virtual waiting room will open ½ hour prior to the start of the funeral and the staff of Cruz Family Funeral Home will admit those wishing to view services into the lobby as they join.

Pam was employed over 30 years in the medical field  and spent several years as both a nurse and nurse practitioner with Memorial Hospital of South Bend before serving as the school nurse at Jackson Middle School for two years before joining the staff at  Beacon Home Health Care.

In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, shopping and she was notorious for being found eating ice cream and other frozen treats by her family and friends. She had an incredible talent for interior design and loved to decorate and make improvements to her home.

Her kindness and tender heart allowed her to dedicate her entire nursing career to helping children. She will be fondly remembered as “mom” to numerous people who she helped during her time on Earth, and all the animals she was blessed to take in and lovingly care for.

In her memory, donations may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Riley’s Hospital for Children.
