Patricia A. “Patti” Lawson, age 71 of South Bend, passed away at the Center for Hospice Raclin House on Friday, April 23, 2021. Patti was born February 24, 1950 in Elkhart, Indiana to Peter and Thelma (Stiver) Cataldo. A graduate of Marian High School in Mishawaka, Patti became an administrative assistant at a variety of well-known companies in the Michiana area such as WNIT-TV in Elkhart, Center City Studios in Chicago, Edward Lowe Industries in Cassopolis, GranTek in Mishawaka and AWS in South Bend before retiring at the age of 66. On December 15, 1989, she married Charles “Chuck” Lawson in South Bend, Indiana. They celebrated 31 years of marriage.

Chuck survives, along with Patti’s sisters Diane Kamp, Vicki (Bill) Bunn, Pam (Steve) Pixley, and Cathy Tindall. Her parents preceded her in death.

There will be no formal services at this time, but the Lawson family will be planning a celebration of Patti’s life at a later date. Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Osceola has been entrusted with her care.

When not busy working, Patti enjoyed spending her time outdoors planting flowers in her garden or landscaping her yard. She was especially fond of animals, particularly cats and dogs, and spent time as a volunteer with Pet Refuge in Mishawaka. She also enjoyed relaxing and reading a good mystery novel written by Agatha Christie.

Patti was passionate about birds and enjoyed watching and feeding them at over 20 bird feeders she routinely maintained. Because of her tremendous love for birds, the Lawson family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be given in Patti’s memory to the National Audubon Society through their secure donation tab at www.audubon.org.
