Rebecca Ann (Boyer) McCarthy

Rebecca A. McCarthy, age 86 of Osceola, went to be with her Lord and savior on August 15, 2020 at Golden Living Center, Tanglewood Trace.  Rebecca was born September 9, 1933 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Howard R. and Alice E. (Hathaway) Boyer.  On July 14, 1951, she married William E. McCarthy.

Surviving is her husband of 69 years, William McCarthy of Osceola and their sons Michael (Ronna) McCarthy of South Bend, Patrick (Cindy) McCarthy of Osceola, and Chris A. (Cheryl) McCarthy of South Bend.  Surviving as well are 14 grandchildren and 52 great grandchildren.  Rebecca is also survived by her siblings William (Pauline)  Boyer of Arizona and Brenda Bartell of Middlebury.  She was preceded in death by her siblings Robert Boyer and Barbara Watts.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 21, 2020 with Pastor Robert Lambert officiating and interment will follow in Olive Cemetery, Elkhart. 

Rebecca was a homemaker and she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and her church family.  Rebecca was also a devout Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart.  She was ordained as an Apostolic Pentecostal minister for more than 50 years and shared the joy she had through Christ with all who she met. She was always kind and helpful to those in need.

In her spare time, she enjoyed collecting antiques like glass dishware and copper pots and pans.
