Rosalie Galloway Obituary

Rosalie "Dee" (Zwierzynski) Galloway was a beloved grandmother, mother, and wife during her incredible 78 years of life. She left this world Sunday, January 9th, 2022.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents, Rose (Bagarus) Zwierzynski and Ted Zwierzynski and brothers Steven Zwierzynski, Walt Zwierzynski , Ted Zwierzynski, and Donnie Zwierzynski. She is survived by; her husband Lester Galloway; sister Suzie Montalvo, son and daughter; David(Sherrie) Galloway, and Shelly Zylka.  She is also survived by her grandchildren; Tai Zylka, Clayton(Samantha) Galloway, McCullen(Carmen) Galloway, Emily(Collin) Ault, and Sophie Galloway, along with her great granddaughter Phoebe Zylka. Dee also leaves behind many other extended family and friends and her rescue cat Clutch.

Dee was born on March 21st, 1943, in South Bend, IN. As the big sister in the family, she was good at keeping her siblings occupied. Keeping everyone happy with games she would make up, creating cars out of cardboard boxes, making paper cut-out dolls and clothing and she even made a game out of doing housework. She took art classes for a while; she was so talented she even did a portrait once. She loved to hang out with her brother Walt when they were teenagers. They remained close to the day he died.

On January 12th, 1963, Dee married the love of her life, Lester Galloway. Dee was a devoted wife and mother of two. She loved to garden, sew, draw, and paint ceramics nearly as much as she loved hard work, cooking for the family, and dancing to James Brown and Tom Jones. For many years she worked for Patriot Homes, manufacturing mobile homes as well as on the road with her husband repairing them in the field. Anyone who met Dee was immediately treated like one of the family and she was always sure to make everyone feel like they were welcome and loved. Dee, you will be dearly missed.

There will be no services at this time. Cruz family funeral home will assist with the arrangements.
