Susan Gayle (Friesner) Gonzales-Stauffer

Susan Gayle Gonzales-Stauffer, age 69, passed away the night of March 10, 2023. She was born September 9, 1953, to the late Lowell Mac and Laurette Ann Friesner. She was married December 15, 2005, to Steve Stauffer Sr., in Mishawaka, Indiana.

Susan is preceded in death by her Grandparents, parents, her former husband David Gonzales, her children Carrie Ann and David Joseph Gonzales, her stepchildren Ronald Allen, Jason Carol, Christine Rae Stauffer, her brother Larry Friesner, and her sister-in-law Hazel Friesner.

Susan is survived by her sons Brian (Andria) Gonzales of Elkhart, Robert Gonzales of Elkhart, Jon (Nicole) Gonzales of Elkhart, Michael (Amber) Gonzales of South Bend, Ricky (Stephanie) Gonzales, and her daughter Amy Gonzales of Elkhart. She is also survived by her step-children Steven Stauffer Jr. of Wisconsin and Scott Joseph Stauffer of Wisconsin, her brother Richard (Diane) Friesner of Osceola, her twenty-four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Sue lived and worked as a devoted wife and mother, and she never ceased to tend to the needs of others before her own. She loved visiting her grandchildren, always put time with her family above anything else, especially when it came to cooking for family meals and events. One of her favorite pastimes was spending quality time with her family, especially watching professional wrestling. Beyond her time with family, Sue enjoyed exploring nature and taking in the environment around her. She had fun visiting casinos and playing bingo. Sue will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her spirit, and the love she showed to everyone around her.

Visitation will be held Wednesday March 22, 2023, from 12PM-2PM at Cruz Family Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 2PM. Sue will be laid to rest at Olive Cemetery after her services.
