William "Bill" Jamieson Obituary

William J. “Bill” Jamieson, age 65, passed away July 11, 2020 at his home in Osceola.  Bill was born April 19, 1955 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Samuel and Myrtle (Thomey) Jamieson. He later graduated from Penn High School.  On June 16, 1973, Bill married Star Hixon in Granger, Indiana.  Star preceded him in death, passing away August 26, 2014.

Bill is survived by his daughter Kelly Johnson and her husband Robert and his grandson, whom he raised as his own son, Brandon Jamieson and his wife Katey, both of Mishawaka.  Bill is also survived by his siblings Samuel Jamieson of Granger, Susan Strantz and her husband Charles of Granger, and Rob Jamieson and his wife Julie of Mishawaka.  He was preceded in death by his son, William “Billy” Jamieson on November 21, 1990.

There will be no formal services, however, the Jamieson family will hold a private celebration of Bill’s life at a later time.  Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Osceola is assisting with the arrangements.

Bill and Star owned B.J. Star’s bar in Elkhart for over 30 years.  In his spare time, Bill was a gun enthusiast and adamant supporter of Second Amendment rights.  He was also a longtime member of the NRA.  Bill and his late father enjoyed broadcasting amateur radio and his call number was W9GQQ.  Bill attended church at the Vineyard in Mishawaka and more recently, worshiped at Sugar Grove Church in Elkhart.

Most of all, Bill will be remembered for his caring and compassionate demeanor.  Helping others was his greatest contribution to his time on Earth.  Whenever the need arose, Bill was there to lend a hand to his family, friends, or his employees whom he treated with dignity and respect.  His willingness to go above and beyond expectations for others was an attribute his family is most proud of.
